Angie Koops

Angie Koops

Personal Trainer and Surfer

Born in Kaikoura, New Zealand, Angie has enjoyed surfing from a young age, as well as gymnastics and snow boarding. Three years ago at age 20, Angie decided that surfing had become her burning ambition, so she packed up her surfboard and moved to the warmer surfing-friendly climate of Queensland’s Gold Coast. Angie receives professional surf training at Surfing Australia’s Elite Performance Centre, which has dramatically improved her technique and competition strategies.

Angie has recently been awarded the title of Open Women’s New Zealand National Champion and has been featured in Curl and Surfing magazines. She is also an accomplished snow boarder and instructor. She is about to complete her Sports Management (Surfing Studies) course at Southern Cross University. Aside from all the practical time she spends in the water engaging in one-on-one training with her coach, she is learning surf-industry specific studies in business, finance, marketing, and promotions.

As a qualified personal trainer and athlete, Angie knows how important it is to be fit and healthy. “I know the importance of looking after myself; staying as fit and healthy as possible is essential! TAHITIAN NONI® Juice gives me valuable nutrients and increases my energy levels to help enhance my surfing performance. Also, the skin care products protect and nourish my skin from the harsh elements I am exposed to every day. Tahitian Noni® products really help me feel amazing and look after what I have.”

As a credit to her accomplishments, Angie has been selected to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime professional photo shoot in Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands in July 2008. The trip is a 10-day voyage to remote areas of tropical coast line in pursuit of surfing photos for two major surfing magazines, Kiwi Surf and Women’s Curl Magazine, both distributed in newsagents around Australia.

Angie will be competing in and hoping to win all of the Queenland surfing series this year for a chance to enter the 2009 Roxy Pro Competition. Angie will also compete in the trials for qualification of the Quicksilver Pro Gold Coast.
