Larry Merit developed a passion for working with dogs at a very early age, and in 1970 he began his career training guard dogs, police dogs, and special needs dogs that helped people accomplish their everyday activities. Soon afterwards he discovered his true passion of training working dogs, specifically upland bird dogs and retrievers. Larry is revered for his training methods and has appeared in print publications and on television shows. He has also participated in public training clinics for upland bird dogs and retrievers.

Due to the tough rigors these dogs must endure, Larry was always looking for superior nutrition and nutritional support for his dogs. “I began giving my horses Tahitian Noni Equine Essentials™ when it came out, so naturally after seeing its benefits I was anxious to start my dogs on Canine Essentials™. Accomplishments:
• Helped develop the police working dog that (up to that point) was credited with the most captures of his lifetime
• Developed the first bloodhound certified by law as a drug detection dog
• Invited to the national invitational of the top 36 dogs in the nation with the same sitter two years running
• Developed several recipients of Champion, Runner-up Champion, and Dog of the Year awards
• Developed a dog that was awarded a National Shooting Dog Championship saddle
• Developed the dog that held the record for the most wins in the 1986 Oklahoma Upland Field Trial Derby
