Senior Research Scientist
In 1964, Dr. Bing-Nan Zhou earned a Ph.D. from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Academy of Sciences. He then launched an incredible academic career, being appointed as a Research Associate, Associate Professor and then Professor at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (1964-1994). In 1989, he was directly nominated as Advisor of Ph.D. Candidates by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council of China. Under Dr. Zhou’s guidance, scores of students earned their Ph.D. and M.S. degrees.
Dr. Zhou’s academic career has taken him all across the globe:
• 1961-62: Received training from the Institute of Bio- and Organic Chemistry, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences at Prague
• 1981-83: Held post-doctoral position in the School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin
• 1997: Visiting professor to the Department of Chemistry of British Columbia at Vancouver, Canada
• 1987, 1990-93: Visiting professor to the College of Pharmacy, University if Illinois at Chicago
• 1994-2002: Served as Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Chemistry, Virginia Tech
TNI is now very proud to call Dr. Zhou one of their own. His current capacity is Senior Research Scientist and Senior Manager in Tahitian Noni International’s research laboratory.
“Nature is a treasure and provides mankind with food, nutrition, and medicine. Noni is a gift and every part is useful for people. Since very ancient times, noni has brought the Tahitian people health, strong bodies, and happiness. Now we are learning all about Tahitian heritage and making great efforts to discover its secrets. By using current modern scientific technology, we are developing new products and finding reasons why noni benefits human beings. We’re also guaranteeing the quality of our products.”
Awards
Bing Nan Zhou received Natural Sciences Awards (Second award) from Chinese Academy of Sciences & Ministry and Technology of China (1987).
He received Research Awards (Second award) from National Committee of Family Planning of China (1993).
He is also receiving life-time subsidies from China’s State Council of P.R. for his excellent contributions to the research in Chinese traditional herbs and natural organic chemistry (since 1998).
