Ian Adamson
Seven-time World Champion Adventure Racer
Ian Adamson has been a professional adventure athlete since 1997 and has been racing at top levels since 1988. He is the consummate adventure athlete having competed internationally in triathlon; wind surfing; ocean yacht racing; orienteering; and canoe, kayak, and adventure racing.
Ian is a three time Eco-Challenge champion, with an unprecedented seven podium finishes, and the only athlete in the world to also win the Primal Quest, Raid Gauloises and Southern Traverse, the 'big four' international adventure races. He is a two-time and current world record holder for endurance kayaking (217 miles in 24 hours) and is a former member of the US and Australian Canoe Teams.
Adventure racing is a sport that requires co-e teams of three or four to navigate extreme distances 24 hours a day, through remote wilderness settings and using only non-motorized transport. Races can be more than 700 miles long and may include running, mountaineering, mountain biking, white water rafting, sea kayaking, in-line skating, horseback riding, and climbing.
The rigorous physical and mental demands of adventure racing are extremely punishing on athlete's bodies, and Ian drinks TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice to aid in maintenance during training and racing.
'There is no question that TAHITIAN NONI™ Juice helps me maintain a high level of training and racing in environments and conditions that are beyond the extreme.'
Ian has just recently released his new instructional book Runner's World Guide to Adventure Racing available through major book stores and Amazon.com. This comprehensive guide provides an expert's view of adventure sports, and includes a fascinating history and background to multi-sport, human adventure, and adventure racing.
