Chris Scott
Paralympian and World Champion Cyclist
Each week, Australian cyclist Chris Scott racks up more kilometers on his bike than he does driving his car. Known among fellow riders as “the Gecko”, Scott owns a handful of world records, has brought home medals from three Paralympic Games (Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004), and has dominated cycling competitions all over the globe.
“At my age, all of my rivals are waiting for me to decline, but I'm still improving,” he says. The reason? Thousands of hours on the bike and, according to Scott, a little help from TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. “It has become a vital part of my sporting life."
Scott started drinking TAHITIAN NONI Juice six weeks prior to going to Europe to compete in two international competitions. "I’d traveled to Europe on previous occasions and had endured the effects of jet lag many times, even after taking all the precautions recommended to me by so-called experts. Taking a supply of TAHITIAN NONI Juice on the flight helped me arrive in Europe without suffering the effects of jet lag. I didn’t have access to the juice on my way home, and when I arrived back in Australia, I felt the effects of jet lag for three days."
Scott makes sure he has a supply of TAHITIAN NONI products ready to go with him for every competition. “TAHITIAN NONI Juice is an essential part of my strategy and health routine and I drink it every day as part of my training and competition. I know from experience that it helps my body perform at its best.”
Scott has been drinking TAHITIAN NONI Juice for five years. “By using TAHITIAN NONI Juice on a daily basis, my immune system works better, enabling me to train and race at a higher intensity without getting sick. This then transfers to improved results such as breaking the Kilometre Time Trial world record. The use of TAHITIAN NONI Juice has become a way of life for me and it has enabled me to achieve more with my life, both in sports and in general.”
“Thanks, Tahitian Noni International, for your continuing support.”
Recent news! TNI sponsored Paraolympian Chris Scott picked up the first ever awarded Australian Sports Person of the Year with a Disability for 2005 at a recent sports gala event in Sydney. Not only has Chris won the Australian award but he has also been recognized and awarded with Queensland Cyclist award for 2005.
2004 Australian Track Cycling Championships
Chris Scott broke the 3000m pursuit world record in a blistering time at the Australian National Track Cycling Championships at Sydney's Dunc Gray Velodrome.
"It was 3.38.054 and I did 3.34.221," Chris modestly reported. The multi-disability cyclists proved why they are the worlds top-ranked and a major threat for the Athens Paralympics when a total of three world records fell at the event.
Scott got the ball rolling when he smashed his own world record in the CP4 Division qualifying round of the 3km individual pursuit, riding a time of 3.34.221. He knocked off an incredible 3.833sec off the previous world record, which he set in 2002 in Ausburg, Germany.
2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece
Chris returned from Athens with a new world record and a gold medal! The Paralympic and world champion in the Road Time Trial in Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Games triumphed once more in the Athens Velodrome, dominating the CP4 3Km Individual Pursuit at 3:32.958 – a new world and Paralympic record – beating teammate Peter Homann, who won the silver (3:41.437).
He was extremely happy with his win, and especially with the world record time. "It was amazing. On the final against Peter Homann, I had to do something special. After the finish, when I saw the world record, it was a bonus. It was very difficult to race against Peter, but he took the silver and did his personal best."
Before he left for Athens, Chris made sure he had his supply of TAHITIAN NONI products ready to go! “TAHITIAN NONI Juice is an essential part of my strategy and health routine and I don’t think I could do these Olympic Games without it. I have packed seven Handi-Packs with me and a tube of Skin Supplement with sunscreen. I will be drinking TAHITIAN NONI Juice every day as part of my training and competition as I know from past experience that it helps my body in several ways to perform at its best.”
2005 Australian Track Cycling Championships
Chris set a new world record by taking more than a second off the world record for the 1km time trial for CP Div4 men. He covered the distance in 1:10.058, eclipsing the previous record of 1:11.353, set by Czech rider Jiri Bouska at the Athens Paralympics.
2005 CP-ISRA World Championships
Christopher Scott spent two weeks in July 2005 competing in the 2005 Cerebral Palsy – International Sports and Recreation Association (CP-ISRA) World Championships in Connecticut, USA. He was joined by approximately 1,000 athletes from 36 countries.
“This competition had a relaxed atmosphere, even though results from here will help determine how many people each country takes to the next Paralympics,” Chris said. With this last fact in mind, Chris turned up the heat on the competition and performed to his usual high standard. Check out his results:

Chris was particularly proud of his success in the road race. “Winning the road race was the highlight of my competition, after being beaten in my pet event—the time trial—the day before. It was sweet revenge winning the road race by breaking away and finishing alone.”
