Charlie Parker
New Orleans Hornets Assistant Coach
Charlie Parker has worked as an assistant coach in the NBA since 1996, and is now a part of the New Orleans Hornets. He is widely respected and brings a lifetime of experience to his profession. Parker also played an instrumental role in helping the Dallas Mavericks sustain their longest winning streak in team history.
Parker drinks TAHITIAN NONI® Juice everyday and has introduced it to some of his players. He explains, “TAHITIAN NONI® Juice has helped keep my energy level high at the top of my coaching career. I work long, stressful days and sometimes get very tired. When we are on the road, it’s difficult to get the proper nutrition and take care of myself the way I would like to. With TAHITIAN NONI Juice, my immune system doesn’t suffer and I have the ability to inspire my athletes. I highly recommend TAHITIAN NONI Juice to anyone who is looking for a boost to their immune system.”
Parker has been involved in sports nearly all his life. While an undergraduate at the University of Findlay, he excelled in both basketball and track, and was elected to the school’s Hall of Fame in 1998. He began his coaching career at Findlay in 1972 as an assistant basketball coach and as head track/cross country coach.
Parker went on to coach at Bowling Green and Wayne State, compiling impressive records at both schools. While at Wayne State, Charlie posted a record of 120-56 and established himself as the winningest coach in the school history. Additionally, the Wayne State team won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title three times while under Charlie’s direction. He was honored as the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 1984 and 1987, and received Michigan Coach of the Year honors in 1984.
After Wayne State, Parker had an extremely successful tenure as head coach at the University of Southern California. After eight years with USC—six years as an assistant and two years as the head coach—he joined the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff and is looking forward to future team successes and accomplishments.
