Michael Olsen, C.F.B.E. and Managing Director of Tahitian Noni Cafés™ for Tahitian Noni International, developed the Tahitian Noni Café concept and menu featuring light and healthful selections. Michael is responsible for directing the construction and operation of all Tahitian Noni Cafés worldwide.
In his current position, Michael designed the Tahitian Noni Cafés to embody a chic island theme, inviting the customer to enjoy “Paradise Within.” He structured the café menus to highlight food choices containing TAHITIAN NONI® products, including a wide variety of TAHITIAN NONI® Noni Leaf Tea-based drinks.
Michael’s 36-year career in the food industry includes experience in all divisions of restaurant management and institutional food service. Specifically, he focuses on multi-unit restaurant management and employee training, high-volume business and industry feeding, and college/university food services. His background also includes experience in production bakery management, vending operations, and catering/event management. He has owned his own catering business, has done extensive private consulting, and has worked for companies such as Pearson Enterprises/Village Inn, ZCMI Corp., Brigham Young University and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints corporate food services.
Michael is a certified executive chef and food and beverage executive. He holds an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts from Utah Valley Community College and serves as a consultant to the hospitality industry and on numerous professional boards and committees.
Tahitian Noni Café™ is a concept that began in Tokyo, Japan in March of 2003. It started as a small sidewalk café offering passersby an opportunity to experience a quick, small meal or a light refreshment during their busy day and at the same time introduced them to TAHITIAN NONI® products in a unique and relaxed setting. Initially, this was just a single café concept that had no plans for expansion beyond this one beautiful location in Japan. But it became apparent very quickly that this café idea was destined for more than just one café in one city.
Tahitian Noni Café in Tokyo struck a chord with distributors and local customers alike, and in the months after the first café was opened the decision was made to refine the concept and move forward on a global scale with this energetic Tahitian Noni Café idea.
Tahitian Noni Cafés are moving forward rapidly and expansion plans are very aggressive. The entire concept centers on delicious, light, healthy, island-themed food and the health benefits of delicious TAHITIAN NONI® Noni Leaf Tea in a variety of fun and unique blended drinks. We have assembled a world class team of professionals to refine and support this idea, and to take the café concept to the world.
