Dr. Mian-Ying Wang, M.D. & M.S.
Mian-Ying Wang, M.D. & M.S., is currently at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine at Rockford, Department of Biomedical Sciences.
A native of the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Wang received her M.D. in 1968 from Henan Medical University, Zhengzhou, Henan, and P.R. China. She studied Advanced Basic Sciences of Medicine at Qinghai Medical University, Xining, Qinghai, P.R.China. She then received her MS in Pharmacology and Chemistry, Henan Medical University, Zhengzhou, Henan, P.R.China.
Dr. Wang has done considerable work studying cancerous tumors and how anticancer drugs affect them. She has also studied chemical and hormonal carcinogenesis and cancer prevention (at the initiation stage of cancer development on the molecular level).
In China, Dr. Wang served as a general surgeon; attending physician, Qinghai Medical University; assistant professor, Department of Pharmacology and Chemistry, Henan Medical University; and associate professor and Professor, Head, Department of Cell Biology, Center of medical laboratory, Henan Medical University.
In the U.S., Dr. Wang has been a Visiting Scientist at Department of Preventive Medicine and Community Health, Galveston, Texas; Research Associate at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, UTMB, Galveston, Texas; Research Associate, Department of Clinical Investigation, MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, Houston, and Visiting Research Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine at Rockford, Illinois.
