Richard G. Godbee, Ph.D., PAS

Dr. Richard Godbee received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Master of Science in Ruminant Nutrition from the University of Georgia. He received his Ph.D. in Nutrition from Colorado State University. Dr. Godbee has gone on to serve on the faculty of two universities and develop a multi-million dollar horse feed business for a Fortune 100 company. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and popular press outlets, and has presented papers and given invited talks throughout the United States and Canada. He is also a Professor, Clinical and Adjunct Faculty, Department of Animal Biotechnology at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Born and raised in Georgia, Dr. Godbee grew up in a family of ranchers and farmers; it was there where he first learned the effects of diet and stress on horses and other animals. His additional experience in equine nutrition and marketing has given him a unique perspective and ability to clearly communicate with other horse enthusiasts (or “talk horse,” as he sometimes calls it).
