Liz Pinkston
WNFR Barrel Racing
Liz Pinkston is one of the world’s top barrel racers. She currently sits 4th place in the world, 2nd place in the Summer Tour, and 2nd overall place in the overall tour standings. If things continue on this path, she has a great chance at the National Finals Rodeo and a possible chance at a world title!
Pinkston gives all of her horses Equine Essentials™. She states: “Anyone who has traveled and trained hard knows about the high levels of stress and strain our equine partners face. With TAHITIAN NONI Equine Essentials, the most noticeable differences I have seen with my horses are the post-workout recovery and energy levels.
“While traveling during the first part of the summer last year, I noticed that my horses’ energy levels had diminished, which was affecting my runs and requiring lengthy rest periods. Midway through the summer, I discovered Equine Essentials, which not only helped increase my horses’ energy, but shortened their post-workout recovery times—and that played a vital part in me making the 2004 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
“Equine Essentials is a critical part of my training, conditioning, and competing. I highly recommend the products to people who are serious about their equine partners’ health and performance.”
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Pinkston gets her deep rodeo roots from her parents Ralph and Ann Bradford. Ralph was a PRCA bull rider and raised Pinkston and her brother Clint in the world of youth rodeos. Pinkston hit the Texas Youth Rodeo Circuit, attended some AJRA rodeos, and Texas high school rodeos.
After high school she attended Howard Junior College in Big Spring, Texas, where she would college rodeo for a short period before returning home to pursue a degree in interior design. Joining the PRCA in 1986, she continued to rodeo as a hobby with some success, but it wasn’t until 1999 and after she found her number one mount (Speedy Doc Holiday) that she decided to take things more seriously.
After finding Doc, Pinkston entered her home town rodeo in San Antonio to win second only behind the great duo of Janet and Bo. She finished 20th in the 1999 world standings. In 2001 Doc tore a suspensory tendon, but after a long rest Pinkston was able to bring Doc back to full competition. With the support of two great back-up horses (Project Lightning and High on Home), great friends, and family support, Pinkston won two Pace Picante titles en route to her first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2004.
She currently sits in 4th place in the world, 2nd place in the Summer Tour, and 2nd overall place in the overall tour standings. If things continue on this path, she has a great chance at the National Finals Rodeo and a possible chance at a world title!
