Job Summary:

 

Café Associates are responsible for achieving high levels of customer service and customer satisfaction.  Handles all order transactions, customer service, and some food preparation.  May be responsible for inventory, cleaning, and creation of food items on the menu.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·         Responsible for achieving high level of customer service and customer satisfaction by implementing our ‘Paradise Within’ concept with every guest.

·         Manage cash drawers with personal responsibility of reconciliation at the beginning and end of shift.

·         Handles cash and credit card orders effectively making sure that change is delivered to guests in an appropriate manner.

·         Distributes order tickets to appropriate stations in a timely manner.

·         Reconcile sales to receipts and report shift activity.

·         Keep counter areas and workstation clean and organized.

·         Complete knowledge and understanding of the entire menu including preparation, recipe and ingredients for each item.

·         Complete knowledge about every special including preparation, recipe, and ingredients.

·         Opening and/or closing duties for the cook line(s) including food preparation, equipment preparation, and line set-up.  Also responsible for line changes (breakfast to lunch, etc.)

·         Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of cook line machinery.

·         Responsible to keep supplies and inventory at appropriate levels throughout the shift.

·         Ensure that workstation is always clean and sanitation procedures and regulations are followed.

·         Attention to detail in preparation of all food.  Food must be prepared in a timely manner so as to meet serving and quality standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

·         Requires 1 year experience in food service.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail in food / service quality and cleanliness.

·         Must posses a warm, outgoing personality with enthusiasm and passion for providing outstanding customer service.

·         The ability to communicate effectively, problem solve, and act decisively while maintaining a team player attitude.

·         Restaurant or retail sales experience preferred.

·         Ability to count money and change accurately.

·         Ability to work under pressure

·         Must be comfortable and able to use a kitchen knife efficiently.

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, employee and procedure manuals.

·         Must have ServSafe or Food Handler’s Permit where required by law.

·         Clearly communicate guest’s needs to servers, cashiers, other cooks, and managers.

·         Perform duties that require reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, standing and moving for up to 8 hours.

·         Lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.

·         Hear well in a loud environment

·         Work well under pressure
