Geraldine Finnegan

Geraldine Finnegan began her athletics career at the age of 14 as a cross country runner. She followed in her cousin’s footsteps, former all Ireland 400m champion, and was motivated by her father who was a boxer in his early days.
Geraldine has held national records at Javelin, Pole Vault, 100m, 400m, Shot Put, 80m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, Long Jump, 2000m Steeplechase. From the age of 16, Geraldine was competing for Ireland. She continues to compete for her country and over the last 24 years has competed in many countries around the world including Australia, USA, Russia, Japan and all over Europe. She is the most versatile athlete in Ireland, winning many prestigious awards throughout the country including The Leinster All Star Senior Award for 6 consecutive years (2000 2007) and the Northern Ireland Female Master Athlete of the year 2005. Geraldine has also been honoured as the most medalled athlete in Ireland for 7 consecutive years.
Geraldine also has an impressive string of qualifications including Physiotherapy, Oesteopathy, Pilates, Aerobics, Personal Trainer and Athletics Coach.
Her bubbly personality has a bearing on her whole life. As a mother to six year old Nicole, teacher, communicator and athlete she tackles any task with determination, perseverance and full commitment. Geraldine's lifestyle is an inspiration to others, motivating all she comes In contact with on both a personal and professional Ievel. Geraldine, 41, fits her 3 - 6 hours of training a day and her competitive schedule around her life as a single mum to her daughter.

Geraldine has been British and Irish Champion for the last 5 years in 10 events.
