Richard G. Godbee, Ph.D., PAS

Dr. Richard Godbee received a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture and Masters of Science in Ruminant Nutrition from the University of Georgia. He received his Ph.D. in Nutrition from Colorado State University. Dr. Godbee has served on the faculty of two universities and developed a multi-million dollar horse feed business for a Fortune 100 company. He has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and popular press. He has presented papers and given invited talks throughout the United States and Canada for over 25 years.

Born and raised in Georgia, Dr. Godbee grew up in a family of ranchers and farmers. It was there he first learned the effects of diet and stress on horses and other animals. His additional experience in equine nutrition and marketing has given him a unique perspective and ability to, 'talk horse,' as he sometimes calls it, or, rather, clearly communicate with other horse lovers and enthusiasts. Amid currently developing multiple science articles and research projects, Dr. Godbee is vice president of Product Research and Development for a leading regional horse feed company. He is also a Professor, Clinical and Adjunct Faculty, Department of Animal Biotechnology at the University of Nevada, Reno.
